This is a more personal post, but after months of hard work, sleepless nights and numerous breakdowns, I am so happy and proud to say that I have graduated with a Masters degree in International Law!
The day was cold and rainy and I was so worried I would be late because my family has never been on time for anything for as long as I can remember. So I had to get my robes in a rush, and then rush back when I realised the lady had given me the wrong colours to wear, which I didn’t even notice. But at least we caught it before I reached the great hall!
The ceremony was beautiful and so much more intimate than my undergraduate ceremony. I was terrified that I would trip over while walking up to receive my degree, but I didn’t and that’s all I could really ask for.
We had a celebration dinner in the city, which was amazing and we ate so much it was hard to move, and my partner gave me the biggest bunch of flowers I have ever seen!
I was so proud of everyone who graduated and I felt so lucky to meet so many wonderful people, and I created friendships that I will cherish forever. It felt surreal that I actually graduated and the whole day was incredibly overwhelming, because I felt so grateful to my family and my partner for the opportunity to complete my Masters.
